YAYOKA is a design studio run by Yang Yong Kang. He is a multi-disciplined designer whose practices are extensively related to materials and spaces. Addressing himself as a designer-maker with artistic approaches, he tends to contemplate things upon a deeper exploration such as analyses and background research. Currently he works with design prototypes, carpentry and his own artistic works. He works internationally but bases his studio in Småland, Sweden.

With the knowledge of craft, he develops his works closely with materials. Every finds in the process has him fascinated and then he keeps and transfers them into creations. He dives into materials and techniques especially when they meet the resonances from cultural contents. He believes in true aesthetic should be universal that everyone could react differently with it.

He works with product design and conducts productions by himself. From analysis, overall researches to sketches, mock-ups and final prototype, he delivers proposals with thoughtful responses tailored to the briefs.

Bearing the belief in hands and humbleness to the world, he welcomes collaborations and be willing to share his know-how to everyone.
