Tre hus, Långed park

Tre hus is built from a “design built” project from the collaboration between University of Washington and University of Gothenburg, HDK at Steneby in 2018. The team was assembled by the invitation from Bengtsfors municipality. A public gathering spot in Dals Långed with the intension of integration was requested to tackle with the isolation from multiple groups living in Dals Långed. After two weeks of co-design process; a sauna house, an outdoor kitchen and a viewing spot to the canal were designed and then built in another six weeks. The collaboration between two groups of students specializing in craft and architecture have interwoven the beautiful result in an intense schedule.

The concept of Tre Hus is to joint two buildings (sauna house and kitchen) with a semi-enclosed courtyard to balance the volumes to the landscape. Local resources and traditional building techniques were used to achieve the value of sustainability and connect to Swedish craftmanship. Tre Hus now is expanded with sports parks and other facilities after an extended design-built project conducted in 2019.
